Floating Roof Rimseal Protection

Floating Roof Tanks

A constant potential hazard on floating roof tanks is the accumulation of flammable vapours in the rim seal area. If left undetected an extreme hazard from lightening or static electricity sparks can swiftly lead to an emergency situation.

Detection can be implemented by pneumatic or "hot wire" systems and extinguishing can be achieved through foam systems.

Foam Rim Seal Protection

Fixed rimseal pourers equally spaced around the tank rim deliver foam at NFPA11/BS5306 designated application rates for suppression of flammable gases in the rimseal area. The rimseal pourer comprises two elements; the foam generator which aerates the foam and the foam pourer and shield assembly which delivers the finished foam gently ito the rimseal area.
